ALTOONA, Blair County -- A local business community honors an elite group Monday night.

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce inducted five businesses into their Hall of Fame at their annual awards dinner held at the Blair County Convention Center.  Among those honored were Alpha - a  leader in metal fabrication; Child Advocates of Blair County, who administers the Head Start program throughout the county; Hoss' Steak and Sea House - a Duncasville based restaurant chain with 36 locations, and Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Altoona. All agree their success is due to great employees.

As Scott Filler, CEO of Healthsouth says, "It means everything, because we're a local business.  We pride ourselves in giving back to the community in so many different ways, but this is an employee award.  It's a credit to our staff who put forth themselves 365 days a year. This is their award."

Ten additional businesses were also recognized for excellence in small business, community service, technology, safety and sustainability.

Operation S.O.S. was the Committee's Choice Award for their help with care packages to the military.
