WESTMONT, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Golfers took to the greens Monday morning in support of the new hockey team.

"It was to get our ownership group together with our cooperate sponsors here in Johnstown," said Rick Bouchard , Tomahawks Team President.  "We wanted to thank them... and celebrate the start of the season which is coming up."

Two former NFL players were thanked for their influence in bringing hockey back to the flood city.

"I felt it was a natural fit to put hockey back here in Johnstown," said former PSU/Steeler player Jack Ham.

"I think Johnstown and Western Pennsylvania needed a hockey team," said Shane Conlan who once played for Buffalo Bills and PSU.

The first home game is September 29, 2012, ticket sales and information can be found on the Tomahawks website.
