RENDELL: "Prepare for Layoffs"

HARRISBURG - Governor Ed Rendell is warning state labor unions to prepare for layoffs.

So far, officials haven't released any specific numbers concerning how many Pennsylvania employees will find themselves out of work.

Estimates have been anywhere from hundreds to thousands.

The number of layoffs depends on whether millions of dollars in federal funding makes its way to Pennsylvania.
