VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA  --  Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will not be charged in connection with a shooting outside his birthday celebration last month.

Police in Virginia Beach say Vick is not a suspect and no charges will be filed in the case.

Authorities were unable to determine the identity of the shooter. Police added the victim and witnesses were reluctant to cooperate.  On June 25th, Vick was celebrating his 30th birthday at a restaurant in Virginia Beach.

A confrontation outside the party resulted in Quanis Phillips being shot and hospitalized.

Phillips was a co-defendant in Vick's notorious dogfighting case in 2007.
