TIPTON, BLAIR COUNTY - Plastic tarps protect the tubes used for the Summer Thunder fireworks display at DelGrosso's Amusement Park in Tipton. Rain isn't expected, but organizers don't want anything to go wrong.
"They'll be shooting from the back parking lot (of the sauce plant), on top of the roof. Quite a display comes of of there, so its very exciting," DelGrosso's manager Carl Crider said.
And like every year, they'll be exploding to music. One after another, nearly 2,000 shells.
"There will be shells in the air constantly, every second. As they burst, they'll be shooting them off repeatedly right after," Crider said.
Rozzi's fireworks president John Rozzi said the timing with the music will be perfect.
"It should be very noticeable from last year how its shot," Rozzi said.
This is the 63rd year for DelGrosso's fireworks display. It's free to get in. WTAJ is a proud sponsor of Summer Thunder.
