Energy Policy Hearing Held

THREE SPRINGS, HUNTINGDON COUNTY -  A group of State Legislators met in  our region to talk about  developing wind energy programs .   The State House Republican Policy committee  held the hearing  on Friday morning  at the Southern Huntingdon County High School.  The goal of the session was to take a look at wind energy program and how they impact the local environment.  Also up for study are  the financial  costs and benefits that can come along with the implementation of  wind programs.  Scheduled to speak before the group of State Legislators were representatives from Gamesa Corporation, the president of the Electric Power Generation Association, the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and a number of environmental activists.  Testimony taken during the meeting will be used to shape future legislative proposals according to participants.
