Michael George was released from prison the first week of June. George was arrested at his Windber comic book store in 2007. He was charged with murdering his first wife 17-years earlier, at a comic book store the two owned in Michigan.
He served three years of his lifetime sentence when the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled in a Judges favor that George should get a new trial. The defense claims to have new evidence that points at someone else as the killer.
Prosecutors are challenging the appeal court’s decision in the state’s Supreme Court.
Until a ruling has been made George is out on bond and under house arrest.
