TIPTON, BLAIR COUNTY - A Blair County company is doing what it can to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf.

New Pig developed a new product just for the spill. Scott Diminick was in Louisiana talking with BP and government officials. He says they want to help in the cleanup and get as much product to the people that need it as possible.

Since the oil spill New Pig bought new equipment and increased their manufacturing department by 20%. Diminick says they're treating this like its in their own backyard. They've even created a new oil absorbing boom with different filler material just for this occasion.

They contracted with the manufacturer of the material so they price won’t skyrocket because of the demand the gulf oil spill is creating.

Congressman Bill Shuster toured the new Pig Plant Tuesday. He says the situation in the gulf is a catastrophe, and he says BP should have had a better plan and the federal government should have responded better to what happened. But he says we need to fix the problem before assigning blame, and New Pig has the tools to do it. And Diminick says that's all they want to do.
