CRESSON, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Construction work can cause traffic delays for drivers but also emergency responders.

Cresson Ambulance Manger James Effinger said construction season can cause headaches for emergency responders, but they’re always prepared.

“There are two season in Pennsylvania, construction and no construction.  You put up with it because you have to but it can be difficult,” said Effinger.

It can be difficult because it could add extra time while in route to the patient or hospital.  Effinger said that most of the time while driving through a construction zone his medics avoid using lights and sirens.  He adds they do that because they don’t want drivers to panic since there is no where for them to pull off.

Effinger urges drivers to extra caution through construction zones.
