HARRISBURG, PENNSYVANIA  --  The state Attorney General's Office has withdrawn a subpoena of Twitter.

Attorney General Tom Corbett was seeking the names of two account holders who used the site to voice criticism of Corbett's Bonusgate investigation.

The subpoena was withdrawn Friday, May 21st,  after the first convicted Bonusgate defendant, former House aide Brett Cott, was sentenced to jail for felony theft, conflict of interest and conspiracy charges.

Corbett maintained the subpoena had nothing to do with whether he was liked or not, but rather a tool to prove Cott had no remorse for his crimes.

Nevertheless, the ACLU in Pennsylvania says the probe was an abuse of power on the Attorney General's part and violated citizen's First Amendment rights.
