28 Injuries Prompt Riding Toy Recall

WASHINGTON, DC -- Reports of 28 injuries prompted Ohio toymaker Step2 to issue a recall of 2.5-million ride-on toy buggies.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission claims the Push Around and Whisper Ride Buggies were built with a weak pin that can cause the handle of the buggies to detach, posing the risk of serious injury. The units were sold at major retailers and specialty shops from 1999 through 2010.
Consumers are being asked to stop using the recalled buggy and contact Step2 for a free repair kit.
