Final Goodbye

WINDBER, SOMERSET COUNTY--- Fire fighters said goodbye to one of their own Thursday morning.

John Polimine died Saturday morning during a training event at the Cambria County Fire School.  The county coroner said Polimine suffered a stress educed heart attack.

Polimine was a volunteer firefighter with the Scalp-Level Paint Fire Department.

Fellow fire fighters came from all over to pay their respects.

A memorial fund has been established to assist the family with funeral expenses. In lieu of flowers, or to assist with expenses, contributions can be made to:
