Cambria County Structure Fire

PATTON, CAMBRIA COUNTY - Firefighters were able to quickly contain a house fire in Cambria County on Wednesday night.

At 8:44 PM on Wednesday crews from the Patton Fire Company #1 responded to the home of John Sloverskey located at 601 Third Avenue Patton Borough.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the house.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly however they remained on scene for several hours because of the amount of smoldering material inside the structure.

Mr. Sloverskey was not at home when the blaze broke out.
            

There is no estimate of damage available at this time.

Firefighters from Patton were assisted by units from Carrolltown, Hastings, Patton Area EMS, and the RIT Team from Hope Fire Company of Northern Cambria. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation however, it is not considered to be suspicious.

Mr. Sloverskey is staying with relatives in the area.
