Firefighter Killed in Crash

BLUE KNOB, BLAIR COUNTY---A Blue Knob Volunteer Firefighter was tragically killed Saturday morning.

49- year old Rex Walters died after he lost control of his truck on Route 453 in Snyder Township.

This is the second lost for the Blue Knob Volunteer Fire Department in the past year, their former Chief Edward Berkhimer past away in November after battling brain cancer.

Walters was a member of the department for more than 20-years.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to the Blue Knob Volunteer Fire Department:

A viewing is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon from 2-9 at Berean Baptist Church in Duncansville.
A second viewing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday and the funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with a burial at Mount Moriah Church in Blue Knob.

Friends and family are invited to attend a dinner at the Blue Knob Fire Hall Wednesday evening.

A Firemens Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Berean Bapist church in Duncansville.
