CLEARFIELD COUNTY - A woman held hostage for over a day escaped late Monday night.

State police say they found the kidnapped woman early Tuesday morning in her car.

The incident began Sunday night at 8:00 p.m.  A Coalport woman told police that she was parked in the Oakridge Church parking lot.  According to the State Police in Clearfield, three people forced her to get out of the car.

Police said the alleged kidnappers were one white man who is about 37 years old, one black man who is about 30 years old, and one white woman who is about 40 years old.

Police said she was taken from the parking lot to a location near Olanta, Knox Township. According to the Police, the female kidnapper assaulted her at that location.

Monday the three kidnappers moved the 35-year-old to a building in Grampian. Police said the victim was then handcuffed to the rafters.

Police said she was able to kick one of the kidnappers in the face and escape.  She then got back to her car and drove away.  Police found the victim early Tuesday morning near the intersection of Route 219 and Friendly Acres Rd.

At this point Police don't know the identities of the kidnappers.  State Police in Clearfield are investigating.  They ask anyone with any information about this incident to give them a call, (814) 857 - 3800
