EBENSBURG, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Hundreds of fishermen braved the chilly weather to catch a bite on the first day of trout season Saturday.

Jim Lamer of Johnstown takes his two sons out every year.

“We’ve been coming out since my oldest was 5, he’s 13 now,” said Lamer.

Lamer’s youngest son Lucas was having a great time, despite the bitter wind and snow flurries.

“The fish are biting kind of slow, but we may have a chance,” said Lucas Lamer.

The Lamer boys caught 3-trout fish on opening day at Lake Rowena in Ebensburg.
