Updated: April 9, 2010

STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - The State Game Commission said Friday, if the weather cooperates, it will burn about 200 more acres of Scotia Game Lands next week.

The State wants to schedule the burns on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday - burning about 95 acres on two separate days. Two weeks ago, the state burned 100 acres it had been hoping to burn for more than a year. The burns are controlled and help clear debris and brush as well as germinate certain Pitch Pines.

The Game Commission said it would make a final call next week. WTAJ News will update viewers with their final decision.
