Police paperwork said an unnamed 16 year-old student and 18 year-old Isaiah Elijah raped the woman in a stairwell at University Gateway Tower on College Avenue.
The victim had been at a party at an apartment in the building with a friend. When the two women got separated the suspects offered to help the victim find her friend.
Cops said the teens led the woman into a stairwell, and that's when the 16 year-old pulled the victim's pants down and began raping the woman. Elijah told officers he stood guard. Because of his role as an accomplice he's charged with the same counts of felony rape.
Police believe the attack took no longer than ten minutes, and the suspects eventually walked the victim to her friends dorm room.
A Lieutenant with the State College Borough Police Department said security cameras helped catch these suspects.
"She stayed in public. She didn't go anywhere private with them, so she actually did the right thing, she stayed in a public building and didn't go in a room with them. That's what makes this case so unique, is that happened in a stairwell where people could have seen it," Lt. Keith Robb said.
Robb also told WTAJ News the 16 year-old weighs 230 pounds and easily overpowered the victim. District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller has not said if she will charge the teen as an adult.
