Stolen Items Were Sold on eBay

UNIVERSITY PARK - A former Penn State employee is facing felony theft charges, accused of stealing Penn State University's property and selling it online.

Police say that Robert Murphy, 325 North Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, stole athletic apparel from the Wagner Building, Shields Building and Lubrano Park.  The thefts occurred between September 2009 and January 2010.

He was then caught selling the items on eBay.

Murphy was arrested and arraigned on three felony counts for theft, three felony counts for receiving stolen property and several misdemeanors.  

He posted bail and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 7th.
