AARONSBURG, CENTRE COUNTY - A fire in Aaronsburg on Monday night burned down a home while the family was vacationing in Mexico.

The fire started at the home on Penns Valley Rd at 9:00 p.m.

The Millheim Fire Chief said that someone called 911 after seeing the fire while driving near the home.

Several fire departments responded.  There were flames shooting through the rood when firefighters arrived on scene.  It took them about 90 minutes to get it under control.  They stayed on scene until early Tuesday morning.

A State Police Fire Marshal was investigating the cause on Tuesday.

The homeowners are expected to return from Mexico on Tuesday afternoon.
