HARRISBURG, PENNSYLVANIA --  The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is searching for a location for a new center to help released inmates transition into society.

Over the past few weeks, advertisements have popped up in several midstate newspapers, reporting the state's need for an 18,000 square foot facility to house the 70-bed community corrections center.

Locations being considered are Blair, Centre, Cumberland, Franklin, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Luzerne, Shuylkill and York Counties.

The purpose of corrections centers is to help former inmates find a job, research educational opportunities and reestablish family connections.
