34 year old Carey Toth told officers that on April 17th, 2009, someone stole an urn that contained the ashes of her stilborn child.
Now, the Cambria County District Attorney's office has charged Toth with two misdemeanors for lying to police.
Her attorney, David Gleason, tells WTAJ, Toth tried to rectify the situation by admitting to investigators that the ashes were actually of her cat, Casper.
He added that Toth made up the story to get back at her former fiance.
Toth faces a preliminary hearing  April 22nd.
