Food Bank Gets Donation

Two area food banks are receiving help from a natural gas company that serves central Pennsylvania.

The Dominion Foundation presented a $5,000 check to the Altoona Food Bank Thursday Morning.

Paul Renne, the director of the Altoona Food Bank, says in the past year he's seen more first time users.

A Dominion spokesman says the grant is designed to help food banks and pantries keep up with rising demand in tough economic times.

The Salvation Army Food Pantry in Johnstown also received a check.

The company says its foundation gave $70,000 to food banks in Pennsylvania last year.
