But this latest news isn’t stopping local dealers from taking action and making the necessary repairs to the vehicles that have already been recalled for sticking gas pedals. Local dealers have been training their technicians on how to fix the problem and parts began arriving on Thursday to begin fixing the affected vehicles.
A small metal plate is dropped into the gas pedals, a quick fix for Toyota models that may have what’s been noted as the “Sticky Pedal” problem. Fiore Toyota’s owner, Dan Fiore, stated that it’s not a real complex fix. A precision cut bracket will be placed on the car and there are some procedures and steps that need to be followed in order to properly install the plate.
But not all of the gas pedals on the recalled models need the new piece. A quick stop to a dealer’s facility will help you find out if your vehicle has been affected or not by the recall.
Dan Fiore says, “the attention given to the recall is an example of how Toyota tries to do right by its customers.”
Toyota has built its reputation on providing reliable and dependable vehicles for 50 years, and now some issues have risen that’s causing great concern, but Toyota and its dealers are taking care of it. Fiore said, “I know working with Toyota, they do the right thing.”
