BROOKVILLE---Gwin, Dobson, and Foreman Engineers are ready to break ground on a new water treatment plant in Brookville. The current plant is about 100 years old and lacks the technology to keep-up with new water treatment standards. Officials say the new plant will be much more efficient and will only require one operator per shift. However, no jobs will be lost because additional operators will be sent to work at the water waste plant. Crews have been clearing trees and brush to prepare for construction, which should begin in the next two weeks. The new water treatment plant should be up and running by 2012.
