CURWENSVILLE---The Curwensville girls’ basketball team is raising money for local cancer centers in memory of their coach, Allen Fairman, who lost his battle with cancer four years ago. This is the second year for the cancer drive, and the girls are trying to beat last year’s total of $1600. They have been selling donation cards, pink basketballs, and “Think Pink” t-shirts. Local businesses have also donated to the cancer fund, which will be split between the Hahney and Yuengling Cancer Centers. “Allen Fairman was a big part of our success, and the program we have today, so we wanted to give back to cancer centers around town in memory of him,” said Taylor Bumbarger, captain of the Lady Tides. The team will also be holding a dance tonight after their game for the students at the high school.
