ROCKVIEW, CENTRE COUNTY

Construction of a new Centre County prison is on hold.

The State Department of General Services says bids for the new state prison next to SCI Rockview came in too high.  That means construction won't start this Fall as planned.

The state will look at ways to cut costs from the 200 million dollar project. New bids will be submitted later this year.
