Newly Renovated Pool Makes a Splash in Centre County

PATTON TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY - Park Forest Pool recently had 3.2 million dollars in renovations completed.  It re-opened in June with a new slide, pool and kiddie pool area.  The Patton Township facility hosts anywhere between 200 and 500 people on any given summer day.  Those who swim there seem to like it better than the old pool.

"There's a lot more space around the pool.  They widened it alot.  The pool is bigger too, it can fit more people.  It's a lot more fun," swimmer Eran Vautour said.

The facility has 3 lifeguards in chairs and another to walk around the pool throughout the day.  Pool Manager Tyler DeLorenzo said it's not just Park Forest residents who frequent the facility.

"Usually with really hot days, like this, we get a lot of people from all over the county," he said.
