STATE COLLEGE, CENTRE COUNTY - Folks around State College reflect on 2012 at First Night State College. They say it's been a year of ups and downs.

Time. Something that passes by so quickly, and as the end of 2012 draws near, folks in State College reflect on the year and share their New Year's resolutions.

"My 2013 wish is to keep doing well in school and make every moment count," Hannah Brotherton said.

"To get into college because I want to attend the Pennsylvania State University next fall," Kalkiden Streid said.

"Just to be happy with myself and to follow my dreams, finishing school, things like that," State College resident Julie Brotherton said.

This clothesline is filled with hundreds of New Year's resolutions. Some are funny, others reflect on events of the past year in Happy Valley.

"It's obviously been a sad year, but I think we've prospered and I think that we have come a long way," Brotherton said. "We've all supported each other, we have stood by each other and the football team and all that's happened."

Andrew Maguire agrees.

"When I reflect on 2012, I must say I'm glad it's over for a lot of reasons, so I'm looking forward to 2013," Maguire said.

And he hopes the community can move forward in the new year.

"I think 2012 for our family and for the community as a whole has been a rough year and I look forward to 2013 being a lot more positive, coming out of the community and out of the family," Maguire said.
