Blair Chemical Plant Expands

By: Kevin Flanigan
Updated: December 10, 2012
BATON ROUGE-- Albemarle Corporation, a global developer, manufacturer and marketer of highly engineered specialty chemicals and services, announced on Monday that it has completed an expansion at its Tyrone, Pennsylvania custom manufacturing facility.  The expansion, which doubles the capacity for a proprietary chemical product manufactured for an Albemarle customer, began operation earlier in November and is now operating at full rates.

"We are pleased to be able to rapidly expand production for this important product for our long-term customer," said Randy Andrews, Tyrone plant site manager.  "The fact that we were able to successfully finish this project on time and under budget shows the agility and focus on speed, quality and safety that the Tyrone site is known for."
