Penn State Takes on Bedbugs

By: Charlotte Ames
Updated: November 30, 2012
Researchers at Penn State  may have discovered a better way to fight bedbugs, which have made a comeback in recent years. A team of  university entomologists says bio-pesticides -- naturally occurring microorganisms -- might provide an answer to this pest problem.

The researchers tested a natural fungus that causes disease in insects, on bedbugs. They say within five days,  all of the bedbugs became infected and died. Researchers still have to test the natural bed bug killer outside the lab.
