ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - Altoona Fire Chief Tim Hileman is a "Hometown Hero"!

He spent six year in active duty military and another 20 in the Pennsylvania National Guard. In addition to being the Chief of the Altoona Fire Department he is a member of the Homeland Security Emergency Response Team. This means he responds to any biological or chemical emergencies.

He believes the two roles compliment each other to benefit the city. His training and experience in one area help prepare him for the other.

Hileman has spent a lifetime helping people in one way or another. To him it seems natural and the more things he gets involved with the more it leads him to serve in another way.

Tim Hileman is a Hometown Hero.
