DUBOIS, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - In Breezy Point, Queens New York, fire departments were flooded when Sandy rolled through. Their equipment was destroyed and they could not travel therefore over 100 homes burned to the ground.

Now, through a generous donation they have two new trucks, but they have no other equipment making it impossible for them to be provide basic service.

The five departments in DuBois are donating spare pieces they might have and have started a donation drive to help equipt these departments with what they need.

Breezy Point is one of the only volunteer departments in New York.

Contact has been made with a member of the New York Fire Department representing this company, and most critically needed supplies are halogen lamps, hooks, axes, hose, saws, etc.

We're asking local businesses, who all understand the importance of these first responders in desperate times, to make monetary donations as well.  With these donations, supplies can be purchased and sent immediately, or money can be sent directly to the Breezy Point Fire Department.

If you are interested in donating either supplies or money, all donations are being accepted at Global Fabrication at 235 Beaver Drive.  If you prefer to donate directly to Breezy Point Fire Department, the names of the 3 fire departments are listed below.  Any other checks can be made payable to DuBois Chamber with Breezy Point noted in the memo, and will be distributed to Breezy Point along with the supply donations at the end of next week.

Please have all donations to Global Fabrication no later than Tuesday, November 13th.  If you should have any questions regarding this appeal, please contact DuBois Fire Chief John Kelsey at 814-591-2315 or Global Fabrication at 814-372-1500.

Thank you in advance for your generosity as we reach out to help both the first responders and victims of this tragedy.
