Representatives of Wendy's restaurants in the west/central region of PA presented a $25,000 check to the Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars to provide support for local military families facing hardship.

The donation is a result of Wendy's Key Tag fundraiser (held in May and June) during which customers could purchase a $1 Frosty Key tag and receive a Free Jr. Frosty with every future Wendy's purchase through 12/31/12.

This is the third check presentation made by Wendy's to bring the campaign total to $52,333.  The Department of PA VFW State HQ will use the money to assist needy military families in western/central PA.

Wendy's in the areas listed below have dedicated their efforts to helping military families by partnering with the VFW: Somerset (Somerset county); Johnstown, Ebensburg (Cambria County); Altoona, Duncansville (Blair County); Bedford, Breezewood (Bedford County); Clarion (Clarion County); Indiana (Indiana County); Punxsutawney (Jefferson County); DuBois (Clearfield County); St. Marys (Elk County); State College (Centre County); Huntingdon (Huntingdon County); and Lewistown (Mifflin County).
