Issues on Voter's Minds

ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - With Election Day coming up in less than two weeks, both major parties are going all out to make sure voters are aware of their candidate's positions.

Most of the potential voters questioned on this Wednesday say they have already decided how they will vote.   A number of significant policy differences were cited as factors that have helped these voters make up their minds.

One key factor getting plenty of attention in this region is the national economy and efforts to get it back on track.  Supporters of both President Barrack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney say their candidate has the best plan for improving the national economy.

A second major concern for voters in this area is religious freedom and the on-going effort to restrict access to abortion.  These issues seem to resonate with conservative voters and were cited by some supporters of Republican Mitt Romney as a key reason they are support him.
      .
Another issue on the minds of some voters is education spending.   When it comes to funding for education and student assistance programs,   it was supporters of the Democratic Incumbent that were speaking out.

Another issue dividing voters is the national health care policy.  Supporters of both candidates say efforts to provide and pay for health care clearly divide the major party candidates.   Because of the different positions defended by Obama and Romney, supporters of both parties say the health care debate has helped them decide which candidate to support.

While the majority  of voters contacted  on Wednesday say they have already made up their mind about which  candidate to support,   the big question is who's supporters  will turn out at the polls  on election day.
