PUNXSUTAWNEY, JEFFERSON COUNTY - From 8:00am - 10:00pm the phone did not stop ringing, Scott Anthony, owner of Fox's Pizza Den explained as he described the success of the annual fundraiser Pizza and Prevention.

The fundraiser began a year after September 11, 2001 as a way to remember the tragic events and to show support for local volunteers. In the first year, a little over $9,000 was raised; now in its eleventh year, over $46,000 was fundraised for the three companies that make up the Punxsutawney fire department.

Anthony thanks the community for the continued support and firefighter Matt Powell explained every penny counts in keeping the community safe and the fire department running.

The event will be held the first weekend of October again next year since, the October is National Pizza month and the first week is fire prevention month.
