A well-used bridge in the city of Altoona is now open to traffic.

City officials cut the ribbon Friday morning on the North 8th Street Bridge, which connects 4th Avenue in the Juniata section of the city,  with Old Sixth Avenue in Logan Township.

The span,  popularly known as the 8th Street Bridge, has been closed for repairs for several months. Penndot funded the rehabilitation project.
