Pregnant Amish Woman Killed

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, SOMERSET COUNTY--- State Police said Mary Yoder of Summit Township was nine months pregnant when she was struck and killed by lightening.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in the 2000 block of Rockdale Road.  Troopers said the 36- year was picking berries with her two children and husband when a storm hit.  The victim's husband and two children shielded under one tree and Yoder went to another which was hit by lightening.  Yoder and her unborn child died at the scene.  The investigation is on going.

NEVER get under a tree during a lightening storm! If you cannot get in a house or car you're safer lying in an open field than under a tree. I thought everyone knew this by now.......
