Elderly Pedestrian Struck and Killed

ALTOONA, BLAIR COUNTY - A pickup truck hit and killed an elderly Altoona man Friday morning.  79 year-old Frank Motyl was walking along 17th street at around 5:30 am.  Those who knew him said he took a walk every morning.  He was hit by a pick-up truck that was crossing 17th street in front of Boyer candy at 9th avenue.  Police and paramedics said they tried to give him CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the pick-up is a 28-year-old man.  His name hasn't been released.  No charges have been filed.
