RESIDENTIAL RECYLING BIN DISTRIBUTION

Altoona – The Intermunicipal Relations Committee will be having two recycling bin distribution events for residents in the City of Altoona, Hollidaysburg Borough, Logan Township, and Tyrone Borough.

Reservoir Park, Tyrone will host the first bin distribution on Wednesday, July 14 from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m.  Residents are asked to enter the park via Route 453.   Traffic will continue to flow through the park with residents pausing in the middle to receive their bin.  Residents will exit the park onto Reservoir Drive.

The second distribution will be held at the Blair County Ballpark in the V.I.P. parking lot from 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010.   Residents are asked to enter the parking lot via the entrance at the lower end and exit nearest the ticket office.

Residents will need to provide a valid driver’s license or photo ID to pick up a new bin.  There is a limit of one bin per household.  Depending on household size residents will be able to choose from the following sizes: 18, 22, or a 25 gallon container.  Lids are available while supplies last for paper recycling bins, with a limit of one per household.  There will also be a limited number of wheel kits available for residents to purchase for $2.00/kit.

If you have questions or would like to volunteer at either of the events please call 942-7472 or email kpope@ircenvironment.org.
