A new study finds that behaviors and psychotic episodes declined significantly in patients given two four-ounces glasses of apple juice a day. They showed 27% fewer signs of anxiety, agitation and delusions. However, there was no improvement in their memory or other symptoms related to their dementia.
Still the finding may allow a reduction in the amount of calming medication Alzheimer's patients are given. The study was published in the "American Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and Other Dementias."
