LORETTO, CAMBRIA COUNTY - A teenager faces attempted homicide charges, after police say he tried to run over a cop with his pickup truck.
Police said that it all started early Saturday morning in Loretto. Officers observed Jebediah Baker, 19, driving his truck erratically. When an officer signaled his lights to pull Baker over, the teen took off.
Police said that Baker eventually turned off the road and went into a field. His truck got stuck, so Baker got out and took off on foot. Two officers started to chase him, but Baker got back into his truck and turned around to face the officers.
Police said that he drove straight at the cops. According to the criminal complaint, one of the officers feared for his life, so he took out his gun and fired at Baker.
He didn't shoot Baker, but Baker did swerve and miss hitting the officers.
He was arrested a short time later and put in the Cambria County Prison.
An investigation by Pennsylvania State Police in Ebensburg concluded that the officer was justified in using his gun.
