CAMBRIA COUNTY - Law enforcement agencies are looking for a man who escaped police custody while he was being searched at a corrections facility.
State Police in Ebensburg released the information late Tuesday night. They say David Lamb, 30, was scheduled to be transported back to a state prison from the Johnstown Community Correction Center on 301 Washington Street around 6:30 p.m. .
They had just finished a search when he ran down the hallway and out the front door. An officer at the door tried to grab him and chased him down the street.
Lamb was serving a two-year felony sentence at Cresson State Correctional Institution but was out on parole. He was made aware of a violation of his parole and that he would be transported back to that state prison. That is when he escaped.
He's originally from Altoona and police say, could be headed that way. Police also say, at this time there is no reason to believe he is armed and/or dangerous.
