Crash Sent 4 People to the Hospital

YEAGERTOWN, MIFFLIN COUNTY - A crash on Route 322 in Mifflin County on Tuesday morning sent four people to the hospital.
It happened at 9:30 a.m. on Route 322 West, about one mile west of the Yeagertown exit.
Police said Hope Martin, of Harrisburg, was driving a Ford Focus west on Route 322 when she swerved to avoid hitting something that was sitting in the middle of the road.
Martin went off the left side of the road and then overcompensated and traveled back across the highway, rear-ending a Toyota SUV that was being driven by Joyce Barton, Milroy.
The SUV went off the road, hit a bank, become air borne and spun around several times. The vehicle came to rest in some trees at the bottom of a bank.
Martin's car came to rest on Route 322. She was uninjured.
Barton and three passengers, Nancy Casner, Anna Herbert, and Rosemary Loudenslager, all of Lewistown, were stuck in the SUV.
Emergency crews rescued the four women from the vehicle.
Barton and Casner were taken to Lewistown Hospital for moderate injuries.
Herbert and Loudenslager were flown to Hershey and Geisinger Medical Centers as a result of their injuries.
Route 322 West was shutdown for over an hour as emergency crews worked to get everyone out of the car.
