Crash Injures Five

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, CENTRE COUNTY - Police report a 16 year-old driver failed to yield at a stop sing, causing a pickup truck to slam into her sedan. The crash happened at 7:50 Thursday morning at the intersection of Liberty Street and State Route 150 in Blanchard.

Police said in a news release that 16 year-old Bethany Heverly of Blanchard was stopped along Liberty Street with three other teens in her car. She did not yield to a pickup trucktravelling along SR 150 and pulled out into the roadway. The truck slammed into her sedan, and Heverly along with the passengers were injured. The 60 year-old driver of the pickup truck was also injured.

One teen, 15 year-old Morgan Rossman, had to be flown by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for her injuries. Police have not updated her condition.
