PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA  --  Allegheny County Councilman Matt Drozd wants to get County Executive Dan Onorato to step down without pay while he views for the job as governor.

Drozd has asked the County Council to adopt a new ordinance that would force Onorato to leave his current position without pay while campaigning.

His recommendation went to committee Wednesday night.

But Onorato said the county's charter allows him to run for higher office and he can do his current job while he runs for the gubernatorial seat.
