Now that the nominations for the November U.S. Senate race have been secured, both candidates say it time to focus on their differences. It was during his victory speech on Tuesday evening that Democratic Congressman turned Senate candidate Joe Sestak pledged to to start his next campaign within hours.
At the same time, his Republican opponent, former Congressman Pat Toomey was telling his supporters that the outcome of the primary voting demonstrates the clear differences between the political philosophies the two remaining candidates represent.
Political analysts agree even though both will be running as washington outsiders.
The race for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania will continue to draw a lot of attention from across the nation because this is a seat the Republican party hopes to capture and one the Democratic party desperately wants to hold on to.
With long time incumbent Senator Arlen Specter now out of the race, the Pennsylvania senate seat is considered to be for grabs.
As a result, contributions and support from all over the country are expected to flow into the Commonwealth.
Polling done before the primary voting showed that Toomey and Sestak were running very close to each other when they were the choices given to voters.
With both candidates expected to be trying to build name recognition across the state, analysts say we can all look forward to lots of advertising from both sides in the months to come.
