Gas Drilling Leads to State Fine

 WILLIAMSPORT - A State College based energy company  has been hit with a big fine over its natural gas drilling operations.
   The  Pennsylvania  Department of Environmental Protection  has fined Rex Energy  $45 thousand  over  the Company's  operations in Cooper Township, Clearfield County.
   State officials say the Company  violated Pennsylvania's Oil and Gas Act, it's  Clean Streams Regulations, and the state's Dam Safety  Act by not following the restrictions in  the drilling permit issued to Rex Energy.
       Rex Energy has agreed to correct  the environmental problems at its Alder Run  drilling site within six months.
