The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has fined Rex Energy $45 thousand over the Company's operations in Cooper Township, Clearfield County.
State officials say the Company violated Pennsylvania's Oil and Gas Act, it's Clean Streams Regulations, and the state's Dam Safety Act by not following the restrictions in the drilling permit issued to Rex Energy.
Rex Energy has agreed to correct the environmental problems at its Alder Run drilling site within six months.
