SIDMAN, CAMBRIA COUNTY--- Seniors at Forest Hills High School got a first hand look at the consequences of both drinking and texting while driving.
PenDOT teamed up with school officials to sponsor the event. Students had to try and play a video car game while texting at the same time without crashing. They also used goggles that blurred their vision while trying to operate a toy race car through a track.
This was the first time for the interactive awareness program at the school.
“We wanted to do something different and have a more hands-on approach for the kids. That way they can see the ramifications first hand,” said Curt Vasas, Forest Hills High School Principal.
