JOHNSTOWN, CAMBRIA COUNTY - Our region is one step closer to having a casino.

The Gaming Control Board filed action to start the process of removing the slot machine license for the Foxwoods Casino in Philadelphia.

Foxwoods was granted the license more than three years ago but never did anything with it. Senator Wozniak want to take that license and build a casino in the Laurel Highlands.

Gaming control officials say today's action is the first step to freeing up that license.
